ㅤintroㅤ Abandoned and left in the care of saint reinette's orphanage when he was a baby, Fiannaut's education was provided by the Ishgardian orthodox church and Saint Endalim's Scholasticate, with the understanding that he would serve in some capacity when he was of age. quickly finding that inquisitorial work did not suit him, he entered the general clergy - only to leave the church when the rampant corruption was finally exposed. now an exorcist, he travels the world hunting voidsent when not occupied with matters at home.

ㅤpersonalityㅤ Fiannaut is a young man often conflicted. While he was, and remains, utterly devoted to the Fury, when news of the corruption within the Holy See became public, he promptly left what he'd felt was his calling in life up to that point. He has trouble reaching out and making new friends, and can be subject to fits of loneliness. He is more likely to sit on the sidelines, wistfully watching while others enjoy the company of their comrades, rather than attempting to join in.

ㅤbiography.ㅤ Fiannaut's earliest memories are not as one would expect - a mother's loving touch, a father's gentle voice. Rather, the child grew to adulthood under the auspice of the Ishgardian Orthodox Church, in a church-funded orphanage. He'd been left on the doorstep, swaddled in a baby blanket, with no other clues to his heritage. He was quick for a child, highly intelligent and earnest, clinging to scripture for comfort. When he was of the age to begin his education, he was groomed towards joining the Inquisition, but the tender-hearted lad didn't have the constitution for the... ah, 'advanced interrogation techniques' Inquisitors were sometimes wont to apply to heretics. Thankfully, his teachers had mercy and turned the boy over to Saint Endalim's Scholasticate for a more general education.

Fiannaut lost his faith in the church when the lies and sins of the Archbishop were revealed to the public. Devastated that the Holy See was corrupted with Ascians, Fiannaut left the priesthood embittered and angry, burning his robes on the steps of the Cathedral itself in a bold declaration to never return. Mind, he still possessed faith in Halone, it was merely the church itself that had lost favor with him. With his faith and ability in aetheric arts strong, he fell into a career as an exorcist, battling voidsent wherever he can find them.

Alone, he drifted aimlessly from city to city, helping where he could, though he found he was always more comfortable with the lost and unfortunate souls of society. One starry evening, however, a sickly Baron by the name of Henri Caillouet came to the orphanage where the boy had been left and claimed him. Fiannaut was away from Ishgard at the time, but the orphanage wrote to him, urging him to come home quickly - but alas, Henri passed only days before Fiannaut's arrival. Thus did the ex-priest find himself saddled with a title and an estate, with no other family (as, according to Henri, he had been an only child and his mother had passed in childbirth), with no idea what to do with it or how to manage it, let alone how to navigate high society.

ㅤ001.ㅤ Charitable Efforts - Extending a compassion hand to the poor and undesirables is a core tenant of Fiannaut's and he can often be seen in the Brume, offering healing services and general succor. He has also devoted large sums of gil from the estate to philanthropic enterprises and is always on the look-out for new opportunities to give back.

ㅤ002.ㅤ Void-hunter/exorcist - With his stalwart faith in Halone and his strength in aetheric arts, Fiannaut has significant experience in ousting demons, voidkin and other spiritual entities from their hosts, or the places where they linger. Perhaps you're in need of his services?

ㅤ003.ㅤ Gardener - Often seen tending to what little flora exists in various places in the city, every plant that the man touches seems to thrive. He is often seen with gloves, a watering can and a pair of pruning shears, wandering through Ishgard.

ㅤ004.ㅤ Obviously Awkward Noble - Fian has been a Baron for less than a turn and is still learning the finer aspects of acting like one. He tends to be somewhat of a wallflower at events, praying he won't embarrass himself by saying or doing the wrong thing.

ㅤ005.ㅤ Excommunicated - Though it is not widely known why, Fiannaut was recently excommunicated by the Church. He'd already left, but the excommunication only added insult to injury, because as long as it stands, he can never come back.

ㅤ006.ㅤ Half-sister - Recently, a woman named Sabine Renard came forward, bearing a signet ring of Henri's and claiming to be Fian's half-sister, wanting to claim her half of the fortune. It took some doing on her part, but Fian was eventually convinced, and agreed to allow her a stipend to fund her alchemy & botany business. He doesn't quite trust her, though, and is suspicious that she has far too much ambition and some shady ulterior motives.
